What is Trauma Treatment?

Trauma treatment for chipped or dislodged teeth varies depending on the type and severity of the injury. An endodontist must examine and treat the tooth accordingly. Root canal treatment is often employed for various dental traumas, such as a knocked-out tooth or a root fracture. Patients should seek treatment for these injuries immediately.

Trauma Types

Crown Fractures
(Broken Tooth)

A crown fracture occurs when the enamel or dentin of your tooth is cracked.

Crown Fractures
(Luxation Injury)

In some cases of injury, your tooth might be moved into another position instead of getting knocked out completely.

Avulsed Teeth
(Knocked Out)

Dental avulsion occurs when your tooth is knocked out as a result of trauma.

Other Traumatic Tooth Injuries

Dental intrusion, extrusion, tooth fractures, subluxation, and lateral luxation can also occur from trauma.
